Captain Craig Hopkins, 32, a native New Zealander, has had ten years of professional sailing experience, including a one and a half-year circumnavigation. His captainship is broad-based, including many repeat charters in the waters of the Caribbean and the West Mediterranean aboard such boats as the 68’ Oyster, Serendipity, the 70’ Oyster, Infatuation, and the 85’ L’Lliade at L’Odyssee.
Craig has a degree in Electronics and Computers, and spent four years at the University of Auckland managing their Microprocessor Development Laboratories. He spent six months developing safety electronics for oil rigs in the North Sea.
In addition to being bright and adventurous, Craig enjoys having fun. His hobbies include squash, diving, and most water sports. He is PADI – Open Water certified. He likes children and promises to keep them happy aboard SHERE KHAN by inviting them scurfing or fishing, and may even throw in a treasure hunt or two!

Demian Thomas, First Mate
Whether it is trimming the sails, polishing the stainless or shuttling guests to the beach, Demian’s aim is to ensure you are smiling and the yacht is sparkling. Originally from South Africa, 27 year old Demian has sailed all over the world. He is an Advanced Diver and past Water Ski Instructor and hopes you (and the kids - of any age) will get involved in all the fun activities that await!
