Captain Trevor LinscottTrevor is a 1997 graduate of the Maine Maritime Academy with a degree major in Yacht Operations. Complementing the required practical studies - Navigation, Coastal Piloting and Marine Systems – were courses in Human Relations and Group Dynamics, Graphic Drawing and Environmental Studies. It takes only a quick review of Trevor’s work history to see that he definitely went to classes well-prepared. From 1986 to 1989 he sailed the coast of Maine as a mate on yachts up to 86 feet. For the next few years he was a subcontractor at top boat yards along the East Coast, working in many facets of yacht construction. In 1996 Trevor took his first captain’s position aboard a Hinckley motor yacht and cruised the Gulf of Maine for three summers. The next step in his career was a big one, serving as second mate aboard a 122 foot motor yacht chartering in the south eastern USA and throughout the Caribbean. Like many Maine sailors, Trevor has a soft spot for classic sailing yachts. He learned a lot about sailing traditionally rigged vessels serving as mate in charge of deck operations aboard the 114’ ketch Ring Andersen. His next command was a complete 180 degree turn – three and a half seasons aboard a sleek and swift Swan 57. Working at Rockport Marine over the last two years has given Trevor broad experience as a rigger, project manager and systems designer. Trevor holds a 100 ton USCG Aux/Sail Near Coastal Captain’s License, a 200 ton Mate’s Certificate and is STCW 95 certified. He is an avid skier, hiker and dinghy sailor who enjoys cooking and good company. He believes it is the captain’s responsibility “to see that all aspects of life on board are safe and secure and that all needs are met – from guests to crew”. First and foremost, “yachting is entertaining and a great time should be had by all!” Captain Linscott joined SINCERITY last winter in the Caribbean. Now , after the 3,000 nautical mile delivery to Maine for spring maintenance, Trevor truly knows his new command from stem to stern and bids you, “ Welcome aboard” to experience the golden age of yachting.
Abbie’s long-time passion for food led her to Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island and an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts. Soon after graduation, she took a vacation in St. Thomas, USVI, never dreaming she’d land a dream job as an international chef. In a moment of pure serendipity, sharing a taxi with a sailboat crew put her on a career path cooking on luxury yachts all over the world. One of the highlights of that 18 year period was being the chef for two America’s Cup races in Australia and Newport, Rhode Island entertaining VIP sponsors. Transatlantic yacht deliveries to the Mediterranean took her to Paris where she studied classical cuisine at La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine. Over the years Abbie had heard that “Annapolis was nice, had water and was close enough to major cities to make a living.” She visited the Maryland capital, fell in love with it, and moved there without knowing anyone. Sixteen years later, she is the proud proprietor of Fine Cuisine in Annapolis. For the past five years, she has served as the Secretary of the Chesapeake Chef’s Association, a chapter of the American Culinary Federation, all the while growing her business. Some of her most loyal clients include USNA midshipmen’s families for Commissioning Week celebrations. She is praised for “making her delicious and healthy food instantly eye-catching with elegant presentation using fine silver, linens, and flowers.” Chartering is the perfect venue to showcase Abbie’s versatility in fine cuisine, and she looks forward to presenting dining experiences worthy of SINCERITY’S elegant Edwardian salon.
