"The yacht was impeccably kept. John and Sue do a great job keeping everything in its place so as to make our stay comfortable and uncluttered. They did a wonderful job keeping the kids entertained (and) exceeded our expectations. All requests were welcomed and graciously accommodated.

It wasn't easy for Sue to keep up with Phillip's appetite. She always seemed to stay one step ahead of him with snacks. We really appreciated the healthy choices she offered to us all.

John offered wonderful options for us to see the best sites, including everyone's needs whether it be sailing, diving, snorkeling, beachcombing or hiking.

We were welcomed with open arms. We could sit privately if we needed, or socialize if we so chose. We now view John and Sue as friends. They made our Christmas special with extra added touches.

I have actively sailed all my life on everything from dinghies to twelve meters and find that John is a knowledgeable and conservative captain, while Sue is a complementary First Mate and a great cook! They handled the 62 foot boat very well and in all of their decisions, kept in mind guest comfort and interests. In port, they had a wonderful sense of when to join in and when to leave us to ourselves. "As for the boat itself, it is truly well designed for guests. The boat could easily handle four couples in the four cabins, is ideal for three couples and is downright palatial for two couples. With its cutter rig, it sails very well. We averaged about 9 knots on our return trip of 48 miles from Guadeloupe to Jolly Harbor, Antigua. We had 4 foot seas, the wind just forward of the beam, one reef in the main, staysail furled and Genoa partially reefed. The winds were 15-20 knots and the boat was very comfortable! My wife's comment was, "Why is our family boat not so comfortable?"

"Makayabella is also equipped for skin diving. We are not divers, but we love to snorkel. John came with us on our snorkel around Pigeon Island and because of his extensive dive experience was able to point out things that I would never have seen. He made that snorkeling trip a memorable experience for all!"
