YACHT CAPTAIN: IAN FAGG
CHEF/STEWARDESS: NICOLA COLLINS
Coming
from Cornwall, England and with sailing in his blood, Ian had no hesitation
in his
choice of career… A third generation sailor, he first crossed the English
Channel at the age of 3 and a first Atlantic crossing came at the age of
18. After attending the Solent University in Southampton where he obtained
an Engineering Foundation in Yacht Design, Ian became an RYA Offshore
Commercial YachtMaster and has since sailed extensively in both the
Caribbean & Mediterranean.
With his
ready smile Ian is both an approachable & professional skipper. Aboard
Extraordinary his in depth knowledge of the Caribbean and New England,
together with his obvious love of sailing prove an ideal combination for
your vacation.
Ian is an
avid windsurfer, wakeboarder and an experienced Scuba diver, who also enjoys
the thrills & challenges of free diving. Once out of the water Ian mixes
superb cocktails and provides music for everyone with his enjoyable guitar
playing.
Nicki has been involved in yachting for over 10 years. She has sailed in
the South Pacific, Australia, the Caribbean, Mediterranean and English
Channel. She has twice crossed the Atlantic but still claims to be a
‘fairweather sailor’.
After
gaining a BA in Language & Linguistic Science she travelled extensively,
developing an interest in cuisines from around the world. She favours a
light, healthy approach to cooking with an emphasis on incorporating local
ingredients, colours & flavours where possible. Since attending culinary
school in Somerset, England
Nicki has
been creating gourmet food on both sides of the Atlantic.
Nicki
enjoys the challenge and day to day variety of running a charter boat of
this size and as Extraordinary requires a hands on crew, she can equally be
found dropping the anchor or trimming the mainsheet.
A keen snorkeller, Nicki is
also a qualified Scuba diver. She enjoys hiking & cycling – great ways to
explore all the new places Extraordinary takes her to – though in quieter
moments you might well find her with a (cook)book in her hand.
